Eco-Friendly Eating, One Bowl at a Time

Nourishing Tomorrow, Sustaining the Planet

History

Phase 1 - Brainstorm

Phase 2 - Concept

Phase 3 - Final Product

One day while in the kitchen with my 3 children, I had just finished feeding them cereal. I then had 3 bowls I needed to wash. The thought came to me that what if there existed some kind of disposable, collapsible bowl that would make the task at hand easier. I began experimenting with the plastic bowls we had in the kitchen and loose leaf paper. I started forming a bowl from the paper and tried several ways to see if a collapsible, foldable bowl was possible. I worked with what I had to the best of my ability until I felt I couldn't get any further. I needed a professional with the ability to see with the same vision I had. One day when waking up from sleep, I heard God tell me to go to a paper manufacturer in Greenville, South Carolina. He didn't tell me the name however, it wasn't long before I came upon the name of Paper Cutters, Inc. This was the only paper manufacturer in Greenville so I headed there.

Completely on faith and recognizing the loving pity that my wife had on me, I proceeded to Paper Cutters, Inc. with a plastic kitchen bowl and looseleaf paper in hand. I was nervous but calm, figuring it could only go two ways. That day, I met Mr. Randy Mathena. He looked at what I had while I explained what I was trying to accomplish with the bowl and paper. I was pleasantly amazed that this man saw what I saw and was willing to help me with my goals. He invited me into his office, explained to me his business, and then offered to introduce me to a designer he previously worked with from Clemson University named Mr. Kern Cox. Together we worked on this project for 2 plus years until we came up with what we both believe is a viable, marketable product. To date, Mr. Mathena has been nothing but helpful. Mr. Cox has been a patient God send and a blessing through this entire process.

I wrote the vision and made it plain. God connected me with two men who took the vision and ran alongside me with it until it was good.
